Women in Film SE15 *FREE* Animation workshop
Saturday 29 February and 7 March 2020

Are you interested  in exploring the woman’s voice today and how that can be expressed through film and animation? Women in Film SE15 are running a two day animation workshop where the aim is to learn the initial skills to make an animation film collectively that celebrates the women’s perspective!

Please note: If you are interested in another aspect of animation and would prefer to focus on camera work, illustration or collage then that’s OK!

Day one: Examine a variety of different approaches into the animation form looking at some of the great women animators of the past and learn how they created stories with moving images, both in stop motion and cel drawings. We will also be considering the differing representations of women in animation from Betty Boo through to Frozen and Netflix’s Mama K’s Team 4. We will look at the importance of  script, storyboard and research and work on a female centred narrative loosely based on ‘protesting’ women.

Day two: Making a short animation collectively with the chance to take on different roles from camera, to storyboarding, through to a short animation. The workshop will be facilitated by all female animation collective the O’Honey Studio. You can see their amazing work here: www.instagram.com/ohoneystudio
